Australia, on Thursday (February 23), announced their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India. The series will begin next month after the conclusion of the ongoing four-match Test series between the two teams.
The visitors have included Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh in their 16-member squad. Both the allrounders will be returning to international cricket after a lengthy injury layoff. Both the players had to miss the entire season of the Big Bash League too. While Maxwell was sidelined with leg injury, Marsh was out with an ankle issue.
Maxwell ended up suffering a broken leg after a freak accident at a house party right after the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Marsh underwent keyhole surgery to his left ankle to remove loose bone fragments and repair cartilage.

Apart from Maxwell and Marsh, the visitors have also recalled pacer Jhye Richardson to their squad. Richardson had to miss the BBL finals due to a hamstring injury.
Opening batsman David Warner has also been named in the squad. The southpaw recently returned home after being ruled out of the last two Tests due to an elbow injury. Josh Hazlewood, however, has failed to make it to the squad due to injury.

“With the World Cup just over seven months away, these matches in India are an important step in our preparation. Glenn, Mitchell and Jhye are all important players in what we think the squad might look like come October,” chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“It would be great for Josh to be part of this series but we have taken a conservative view ahead of a very important winter in England of which he will be an integral part,” Bailey added.
The ODI series will get underway at the Wankhede Stadium on March 17 before the teams move to Vizag for the second game on March 19. The third and final match will be played at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on 22nd of March.
