Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will kick off on 31st March 2023, the opening match is between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Star Indian player, MS Dhoni is set to lead CSK in the IPL 16. Former Australian opener, Matthew Hayden predicted that this edition will be the end of Dhoni’s legacy, so he wants to end this with a big victory in IPL 2023.

Former CSK player, Hayden mentioned different factors leading to CSK’s comeback-
“See CSK, they notoriously find a way to do things unique and special. Take their hiatus out of their IPL, it was unfortunate the two years they weren’t playing, and they came back the year after that to win the IPL, it was most unexpected. And they have a way,” said Hayden speaking to Star Sports.
Chennai Super Kings will be looking to bounce back in the upcoming season after their forgettable campaign in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).In 2022, the four times champion finished at second last position in the points table.
“MS Dhoni has a way of revitalising, revamping, making it just a completely different look and feel to the side, even though it’s had this great tag of having complete trust in few players and having retained most of their players,” he further added.

This time the IPL will be played again with home and away games under MS Dhoni leading CSK after three years in this format. Chennai Super Kings will have their first home game on 3rd April when they face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Chepauk.
“So for MS Dhoni, I think this year in particular, it’s going to be a year celebrated like no other. It’s the finish I believe of the legacy of MS Dhoni and he will want to go out in style with his fans, who’d want him to go out in style as well,” said former Australian cricketer.
MS Dhoni is widely regarded as the best captain India has ever gotten, he has won all ICC titles with Men in Blue. The wicketkeeper batter retired from International cricket in 2020, he played his last international match in ICC World Cup 2019. While with Chennai he lifted the IPL trophies in 2010,11,18 &21 editions.
The aggressive opener, Hayden played three seasons for CSK from 2008 to 2010, he scored over 1000 runs in 32 matches.
