After the first two days of Australian domination in the 4th Test match in Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023, the Indian side is back with a century from Shubman Gill on Day 3 and now, Virat Kohli’s ton at Ahmedabad Test on Day 4.
Kohli’s century in a longer format of the game almost came after a gap of three years and five months, and the whole cricketing fraternity stood up to congratulate the Indian maestro blistering knock in the fourth test match. Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan predicts more hundred is due from Kohli after his 75th ton in international cricket.

The former Indian skipper was struggling to score in the longer format of the game for the Asian Giants, the star Indian batter had last scored a Test century in November of 2019 against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Since then, he couldn’t reach the three-figure mark in international cricket till Asia Cup 2022.
However, Kohli was determined to break the drought of a milestone score in Test cricket when he came out to bat in the Indian first innings, He ended day three on 59 as India finished 289/3 in reply to Australia’s 480 at stumps on Day 3.
On 4th day, he goes past the 100-run mark and helped team India to take the lead against the Aussies’ 480-run mark in the first innings. He celebrated his fight-back knock in a mature manner with a slight raise of the hand and kissing of the locket he wore.

While on Day 3, Kohli reached the 50-plus mark and ended the drought of scoring a fifty in red-ball cricket after 15 innings, it was his first fifty under Rohit’s Sharma leadership and now a hundred under his captaincy.
Whereas, in the IND VS AUS test series, Men in Blue is dominating the four-test match series with a margin of 2-1 against Australia. the home side needs to win at Ahmedabad for assurance of qualification to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. Meanwhile, the Aussies have already reached the WTC Final after avoiding the clean sweep in the series.
Till the news was written, India was 525/5, and Axar Patel and Kohli were on the crease with 57 & 159 runs respectively. The home side now has a lead of 47 runs in the 3rd session of Day 4 at the Ahmedabad Test.
