Being one of the marquee names on the WWE roster, Ronda Rousey is a sure shot to feature in a mega match at WrestleMania 39. However, plans regarding her remain uncertain due to an injury that occurred a week before. The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion has since been out of action and there’s no confirmation on when she would be able to be back in action.

Over on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey appeared in a sling while accompanying Shayna Baszler for the latter’s match with Tegan Nox. Originally, it was supposed to be a tag team match where the former MMA performers were scheduled to team up against Natalya and Nox. But the injury forced WWE to make changes to the card at the eleventh hour.

While the initial belief was that the injury was just part of the ongoing storyline featuring all the four above-mentioned superstars, later reports have claimed that Ronda Rousey was legitimately hurt. It was already noted that the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match winner has actually reaggravated an injury that she suffered years earlier.

Ronda Rousey is dealing with a slight fracture in hand

Then in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has now mentioned that Ronda Rousey is believed to be dealing with a “hairline fracture.” Per the veteran, the injury occurred during a training session and not from anything physical altercation on TV or at a WWE live event. However, WWE did film an angle via Nox and Natalya’s attack on her to set up the injury.

Typically, a hairline fracture takes a few weeks to get recovered but in rare cases, one might need to undergo surgery. There’s no confirmed update on Ronda Rousey’s injury but it could not come at a worse time given that we are merely just three weeks away from WrestleMania 39. Due to this injury, the Baddest Woman on the Planet is yet to be scheduled for a match.

In his previous report, Meltzer stated that despite the injury the plan remains the same for Ronda Rousey and that’s to compete in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Baszler, next month at WrestleMania 39. In that case, there’s a possibility that the current WWE Women’s Tag Champions Lita and Becky Lynch will have to compete twice at WrestleMania, as they have already been confirmed for a six-woman tag-team match against three DAMAGE CTRL members.
