WWE Smackdown returns to the host venue of last year’s Money in the Bank for the second last stop before Wrestlemania 39. Cody Rhodes will headline the show in a rare in-ring appearance where he collides with Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser. The tumultuous situation in the Mysterio family will also continue as they will be present on the show to confront Dominik at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Last week on WWE Smackdown, Cody Rhodes made an appearance to settle the differences between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, and he succeeded in doing so. Then during the SmackDown LowDown talk show, Cody cut a promo about his Wrestlemania match but he was also interrupted by Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium.
Kaiser mocked Cody for winning the Men’s Royal Rumble 2023 match from the 30th entry. He also took jabs at Cody for eliminating Imperium leader, Intercontinental Champion Gunther in the end to pick up the win, who was the number-one entry and lasted in the match for 70 minutes.
In response, The American Nightmare pointed out that it’s all about wins and losses in this business. Proceeding further, he challenged Kaiser to a match, which was then made official for tonight’s WWE Smackdown. With Cody continuing to throw curveballs in the path of The Bloodline, it’s safe to assume that they will be lurking around to cost Cody the match.

Rey Mysterio has been announced to be the first inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023 where he would get the ultimate honor for his contributions to the pro-wrestling circuit. The fan-favorite superstar had a roller-coaster ride in the company since his WWE debut in 2002 but he may haven’t gone through such an emotional chapter in life since Dominik turned on him.
For weeks now, Dom has been pledging to his father to grant him a match at Wrestlemania 39. After Rey Mysterio refused to battle his son at The Showcase of the Immortals, an outraged Dominik will now confront the entire Mysterio family on WWE Smackdown when they appear on this Las Vegas episode.
The Judgment Day member had quite the altercations with his family over the holiday season. He even got himself arrested for invading a family dinner. It’s only fitting that they get directly involved in the ongoing storyline on WWE Smackdown to possibly confirm the Rey vs. Dominik match at Wrestlemania.

Rey Mysterio had denied competing against Dominik for weeks but he will finally be able to unleash his frustrations on a rising superstar in the form of LA Knight on WWE Smackdown. Knight put himself into a precarious position by talking trash to the legend.
This past week, Knight caught the ire of Rey Mysterio after taking jabs for what Rey is going through with his son, Dominik. The Master of the 619 did not take those words, lightly and slapped him in the face before challenging him to a match that has been made official for tonight’s WWE Smackdown.
