Brock Lesnar is perhaps the most dominant sports entertainer of the past two decades. He’s a marquee attraction and a physically gifted athlete who has conquered multiple genres to become one of the most dangerous in-ring competitors of all time. Since returning to the WWE, he’s rightfully built as the biggest box office attraction.

Featuring in a match against Brock Lesnar is a one-way ticket to stardom that Omos had experienced at Wrestlemania. Going to the Suplex City isn’t something one can or should expect. Despite that, current Intercontinental Champion Gunther is game for the challenge and calls for the match, no matter what. In fact, he also believes that it’s his destiny to face The Beast Incarnate in WWE.

At one point, it was rumored to go down at WrestleMania 39 but then plans got canceled.

Gunther believes a match against Brock Lesnar is just a matter of time

Gunther made it clear during his appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show that Brock Lesnar is the one who is on top of his chart for a match. The Imperium leader thinks that an encounter between the two of them is a matter of time following their colossal showdown during the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match,

“Brock is the one that has to happen at some point. I think I made him my personal biggest obstacle. The [Royal Rumble] was literally the first time I met him. [It was] brief, but that moment that we had in the Rumble was great because that was all I needed out of it. It was basically like a real-life confirmation that the audience is up for that. They want to see it.”

Apparently, Brock Lesnar having a face-off with Gunther at Royal Rumble was just a tease of the future matchup that will become a reality at some point given the former NXT UK Championship is really interested in the match,

“When I watched him when he started in WWE, he was always the most impressive guy to me. Absolute beast. I saw his stuff in Japan and UFC, then he came back and he’s been on top since then. One of the best wrestlers to ever do it in my mind. For that reason, I want to be able to prove myself against him.”

As noted above, many had expected Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther to happen at WrestleMania in Hollywood. However, that is not the case The Conqueror has been confirmed to battle Omos, while Gunther’s opponent for The Show of Shows will be Drew McIntyre as determined on SmackDown.
