WWE CEO Nick Khan recently appeared on MoffettNathanson’s Inaugural Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference where he discussed a lot of things including a new weekly WWE show plans, WWE coming back to India in September, and also shared insights on his private conversation with Vince McMahon regarding the sale of WWE.

WWE recently merged with Endeavor which is also the parent company of UFC. The deal was announced out of nowhere and fans now expecting to see more UFC stars like Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler joining WWE and they are also rumoured to get main event push in WWE.

Inside Scoop: What Nick Khan Discussed with Vince McMahon Regarding WWE Sale

There had been concrete news on a potential sale of WWE since last year. It was reported that Vince McMahon wants to sell his own promotion and the reason was never confirmed. McMahon was badly criticized by the fans worldwide for this decision.

A lot of big names were raised during the process of this sale as potential buyers of WWE. There were even rumours of a potential Saudi takeover of WWE. Finally, Endeavor became the fortunate group to takeover WWE. WWE CEO Nick Khan gave insight of the sale when he spoke to MoffettNathanson’s Inaugural Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference where he revealed his discussion with Vince McMahon regarding this matter.

Nick Khan Also Reveals WWE’s Upcoming Plans For Live Event In India

“Can’t discuss that. Kidding. Can discuss that, don’t worry. There’s a couple things on it. When he (Vince McMahon) came back, again, the term was ‘first strategic alternatives’ and he and I had a private conversation which he’s certainly comfortable with me sharing today where I said, ‘Hey, just tell me is this real because there’s some scuttlebutt out there that maybe this is just your way to come back in to your company,’ which again, he would have the right to do also and he said, ‘No, I’m committed to it. I give you, my word.’

“Raine (Group) was the lead banker on the transaction. Vince said, ‘I wanna make sure WWE has a strong banker on it.’ That’s gonna be management’s decision and then the Board of course would need to have some sort of representation as well,”Nick Khan continued,

“So he gave me his word that he was serious about the process. Lo and behold, he was serious about the process and the deal was finalized April 1st and announced the morning of April 3rd before the market opened.” Said Nick Khan.
