According to reports, the first group of the Indian team, which consists of 11 players—seven squad members including Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin, a reserve, and three support bowlers—will fly out to London on Tuesday, May 23, to begin getting ready for the ICC World Test Championship (ICC WTC 2023) that will take place at the Oval from June 7–11, 2023.
India will compete in their second straight World Tennis Championship final, this time taking on Australia in search of their first ICC trophy since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013 under MS Dhoni.
Since then, India has advanced to the ODI World Cup semifinals in 2015, the T20 World Cup final in 2016, and the ODI World Cup final in 2019. In the WTC 2021 championship game, New Zealand got better of the then Virat Kohli-led side in Southampton.

11 cricketers—seven squad members, a reserve, and three support bowlers—along with the support personnel for India’s men’s cricket team will depart for England in the early morning hours of Tuesday to begin the World Test Championship final preparations, according to Sportstar.

Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat are the seven players in the team. With the exception of Unadkat, it makes sense that all of these cricketers represent the six franchises whose Indian Premier League (IPL) campaigns ended during the league stage.
The reserve young pacer Mukesh Kumar will also leave with the initial group. Aniket Choudhary, Akash Deep, and Yarra Prithviraj are three additional pacers who have been selected by the national selection committee in coordination with the team management as net bowlers.
Later this week, Cheteshwar Pujara, who is competing in the County Championship, will join the preparations.
