The path hasn’t been easy for Lacey Evans in the WWE from the very beginning and it rather became harder as time progressed. She did try to mix things up by returning to WWE television with a new gimmick and changes in character but it resulted in zero productivity. Now, we have received more updates about a behind-the-scenes situation featuring her.
Most recently, Lacey Evans stirred things up on the internet by trying to copy the gimmick of WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. Now, it appears that WWE indeed had plans for the two, earlier this year which was turned down by the legend, himself.

Sgt. Slaughter rejected a storyline pitch with Lacey Evans
WrestleVotes revealed a bit of insight into the backstage planning on this situation on their Twitter account as they said that Sgt. Slaughter was asked to appear alongside Lacey Evans in January. The infamous Cobra Clutch submission was also going to be a part of the storyline but the whole pitch was denied,
“Adding to the Lacey Evans / Sgt. Slaughter story… back in January WWE asked Sarge to appear in the Lacey return vignettes, where he would “teach” & pass down the Cobra Clutch. Slaughter adamantly denied any involvement.”
Lacey Evans – Sgt. Slaughter saga began on June 2 Smackdown episode
Lacey Evans returned to action on the June 2 episode of SmackDown, last week to compete in a Money in the Bank 2023 qualifier against Zelina Vega. While she ended up losing the contest, it was her outfit that stole the spotlight.
The bombshell came out sporting a camouflage outfit similar to the pendant attire of Sgt. Slaughter. Many believed that she could be teasing a new alliance with Slaughter being a manager for her in the future. But in reality, the Hall of Famer’s daughter noticed the similarities between her dad’s and the current WWE Superstar’s gear, and decided to put her on blast with the following comments,
“No. This is NOT okay. @WWE Who the f**K does @LaceyEvansWWE think she is?!? There’s only 1 @_SgtSlaughter, there’s only 1 Slaughter Daughter, and she’s just a poser.”
Lacey Evans noticed the tweet and decided to fire back while praising Slaughter before challenging his daughter to a fight,
“Your daddy’s biggest fan. A United States Marine. And a bad Mfer. [Y]ou know who I am. And where to find me.”
