Former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath questioned the intensity of England’s team coming into the high-octane Ashes series after the conclusion of the 4th test in Manchester as they were poor on the field against the Baggy Green. Australia has successfully retained the Ashes series following the washout of the Day 5 game in the fourth test.

The rain became a defining moment in the series in England, as the Australian team was very lucky to have the game washed due to the rain in England as the away team is completely outplayed in the first three days of the crucial game in England.

Speaking to the media after the completion of the fourth test, Glenn McGrath feels that England should have been 3-0 in the series and slammed the England team for not being proactive in the field and losing some easy chances throughout the series.

“Looking at those stats, England should be up 3-0. And why aren’t they? Because they don’t have the intensity they need,” Glenn McGrath said.

Glenn McGrath said that Bazball is great for cricket and questioned about taking things casually on the field after dropping ample amount chances throughout the series and reckons the team has the ability to do well if they play with high intensity in forthcoming games.

“Bazball’s great, but if you’re just joking around and taking it casually, things are going to happen like dropped catches and all these little things that make a good team into a great team. This team has the ability to be a great team if they switch on with more intensity,” Glenn McGrath added.

The England team was not at its usual best when they toured Australia where England was hammered by Australia by 4-0. They have gone through some structural changes after their humiliating loss against 4-0 Australia in the previous ashes tour, with Ben Stokes taking up the captaincy and Brendon McCullum being the head coach, the team played some dominating all around the world.
