Arsenal have left it late to win the game against Southampton in Premier League. The Gunners have won 2-1 scoring the winner courtesy of a penalty in the extra time as they won their first game of the season at Emirates.

The Saints were into an unexpected lead as the ball came off Petr Cech’s back after a deflection off the top left hand corner. However, the Gunners pressed relentlessly as Laurent Koscielny scored the equalizer from an acrobatic overhead kick.

Arsenal have tried to find the back of the net during the course of the second half as they have brought on their top striker Olivier Giroud. However, they couldn’t find a way through a determined Southampton defense despite their waves of attacks. Jose Fonte has committed a foul on Olivier Giroud in extra time which made referee point to penalty spot.
