Ever since Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli has went for a verbal clash in Indian Premier League a few years ago, fans of both the players have kept on believing the relationship between the two Delhi batsmen has taken a hit.

The ego clash between the two players in the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 is one of the most heated moments in the history of the tournament. Gambhir have entered into a verbal clash with Virat Kohli as the latter has lost his wicket.

However, despite the duo playing down the incident as part of that heated moment, there has always been speculations about the relationship between the two players. Gautam Gambhir is set to make a comeback to Indian test team after two years at Indore under Virat Kohli.

Despite media reporting that the players are not on good terms, the duo were actually have a healthy relationship according to one of the closest friends of Gautam Gambhir.

“It’s the sheer desire to win at all costs that brought out the conflict between Virat and Gautam. In fact, both he and Virat dined in his Taj Gardenia hotel room the day they fought in Bangalore in 2013, but sadly, these things never get reported.

“Both admire each other and Gambhir calls Virat `Cheeks,’ while Virat addresses him as `Bhaiya.’ Both love Man United (Manchester United) and PlayStations, and are even currently together in the gym in Indore with Team India trainer Shanker Basu,” the close friend revealed to the TOI.

The friend of Gambhir has also gave a clarity on the player’s recent tweets on biopics of cricketers which made a round across social media as the source has confirmed that they were not targeted against MS Dhoni.

The friend clarified, “He never tweeted against any individual’s movie. All he said was that the Indian soldiers deserve a biopic more than a sportsperson. He doesn’t feel that MSD was responsible for his exit,“ he says.
