Out of favour Pakistan all-rounder, Shahid Afridi is contemplating the idea of taking legal actions against Javed Miandad after the former player accused Afridi of match-fixing allegations.
The Tribune Express has reported that the former T20 captain of Pakistan is all set to send a legal notice to the legendary batsman on Thursday.
It all started when Afridi said that “money has always been an issue for Javed Miandad” in reply to a journalist’s query who told Afridi that “Javed Miandad has said that Afridi wanted farewell game only for money”.
“It doesn’t suit a legendary cricketer like Miandad to pass such irresponsible comments. I will meet PCB executive committee’s chairman Najam Sethi and talk to him about what the board wants to do regarding the farewell game,” he added.
Javed Miandad hit back at Afridi by accusing him of match-fixing allegations.
Speaking on a television show, Miandad said: “I challenge Afridi to swear upon his daughter and say that he didn’t sell Pakistan’s matches.
Hurt by the allegations, Afridi along with his lawyers is reportedly going through the clips and will send the legal notice to Miandad this week.
“Afridi and his lawyer are watching clips of Miandad and his allegation thoroughly, and will be sending the required legal notice on October 13 as the offices remain close on 9th and 10th of Muharram,” a source said.
Earlier, Afridi took to Twitter to say that he regretted his comment but admitted that he had no other options.
Javed Miandad is legend of cricket but he used very harsh words on TV for long time. He made personal attack on me for no reason1/2

I regret what I said to a senior but of course I had to eventually react to his behaviour.
