faf du plessis harassed by Channel 9 reporter at Airport

South African cricket team has played some unbelievable cricket in the three-match series against Australia so far. But recently, they had to deal with the alleged ball tampering incident, which occurred during the second Test at Hobart.

Regarding an incident at the Adelaide Airport, Cricket South Africa has issued a statement against Channel Nine journalist Will Crouch, who wanted to get a direct quote from the South African skipper about the ball tampering incident. According to CSA, the reporter showed disrespect to Faf Du Plessis and as a result of which the situation was roughly dealt with by one of the team’s security guards Zunaid Wadee. On Sunday, another Channel Nine reporter tried to directly speak with Du Plessis and was similarly handeled by Zunaid Wadee in the process.

However Cricket South Africa has stated that Will’s actions was the third time a reporter has tried to aggressively harass the South African team. South Africa team manager Mohammed Moosajee has clearly told in the statement that the channel nine reporter’s behavior has been disappointing despite telling them repeatedly that Du Plessis will not comment on the alleged ball tampering issue.

Moosajee was quoted, “This is the third incident of a reporter aggressively harassing our players with blatant disrespect of the above-mentioned media protocol.” “The ‘reporter’ at the airport disrespected us and continued to harass Faf for comment. The ‘reporter’ was also in the unusual position of being in the middle of the players’ walkway to the bus. He was advised to move three times, and did not adhere to this request.”

The CSA statement also reveals that the reporter proceeded towards Faf with an unknown object and also shoved the manager on the back. Moosajee explained in the report that they treated the media with respect and expects the same in return and would not tolerate such nonsense any more from the channel nine reporters.

South African batsmen Hashim Amla and all rounder JP duminy both has defended their skipper on social media and believes that their skipper could do nothing wrong. Amla has told the reporters that his capatain had no wrong intents during a press conference at Melbourne supported by the entire South African squad.

The veteran batsman also thought that the allegation was a joke and there is no big deal in chewing a bubble gum while standing two long hours on the field. He also believes that his captain is clean and has no case to answer and the whole team is with him.
