Following official protests from Mumbai Cricket Association (M.C.A.) and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (T.N.C.A.), BCCI has decided to cancel the two rescheduled games between Bengal and Gujarat, Hyderabad and Tripura. Earlier last month, when these games were cancelled, BCCI announced that it will organise two compensatory games as both these games were cancelled due to the excessive amount of smoke, smog and fog in the national capital. At that time, no association paid heed to the decision of the apex board but soon came into action when BCCI announced the fixtures of two rescheduled games. M.C.A. and T.N.C.A. lodged a complaint to BCCI protesting this move to give an outside chance to Gujarat and Bengal. Both these teams are part of Group A along with Mumbai and Tamil Nadu. Despite the cancellation of the two games, the knockout stages will still be organised a week later as the Ranji Trophy game between which was scheduled to be played in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu has been cancelled due to the demise of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha, on November 5 at 11:30 P.M.

Despite the cancellation of these two rescheduled games, the knockout stages will still be organised a week later as the Ranji Trophy game between Odisha and Jharkhand, which was scheduled to be played in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, has been cancelled due to the demise of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha, on November 5 at 11:30 P.M.

However, till now, no decision have been taken regarding the fifth Test match to be played in Chennai as the Tamil Nadu Government has announced seven days of state mourning starting from today. Test match will start three days later but still it will not be easy for BCCI to organise the game and attract the public to the stadium.

It looks like BCCI is in talk with some other state association and will soon come up with a new venue as soon as they ink a deal with the state association of replaced venue.
