Australia v Pakistan 2016: Azhar Ali Declared Fine After He Received Blow On His Helmet 1

Pakistan’s ODI skipper, Azhar Ali, who suffered a blow to his head on the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test match has now been declared fit but there are doubts over his further participation in the game as the right-handed batsman is still being continued to be monitored by a team of doctors and medical staff, “He’s fit and he’s alright – he’s being monitored by the medical staff and he should be alright,” said Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood.

“He was fine – whenever you get hit on the head, you get slight dizziness.

“They have to monitor him throughout the night.

“He’s not serious, he’s fine and he’s walking around, he should be okay for tomorrow,” he added.

Azhar Ali suffered a blow when Mathew Wade, in the 109th over of Australia’s innings, pulled Yasir Shah. Azahar Ali, who was standing at short-leg tried to duck the ball but the ball went on to hit him and made a contact with his helmet.  Ali was led on the ground after that blow but recovered soon and walked off the field. He has now been declared fit but there are still questions over his further participation in the game and it will be Ali who will take a final call on this.

He played an incredible innings of 205* in the first innings to help Pakistan score 443 runs. In the rain marred the second Test at Melbourne, it is the Australian team who now possess a lead of four runs and now the chances of a drawn game look fair enough. Still, Pakistan management would want Ali to bat tomorrow if they feel a need of so.
