Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a bid for Sevilla midfielder, Steven N’Zonzi, as the Gunners consider bolstering their squad ahead of the second half of a title challenge.
The French midfielder is one of Sevilla’s best players so far this season and has a buyout clause in his contract rumoured to be around £25.6m that the likes of Manchester City, Leicester, Tottenham and Juventus are supposedly willing to pay.
After pretty standard spells in England at Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, the midfielder appears to have been transformed by relatively new Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli.
N’Zonzi has been likened to Sergio Busquets due to his ability to win back and intelligently distribute the ball quickly and has also drawn comparisons to Yaya Toure due to the nature of his powerful forward dribbles. Many would consider him an improvement on Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin.
Arsenal are also in the headlines as far as outgoings are concerned with Alexis Sanchez, who still hasn’t committed his future to the club by signing a new contract, reportedly set to be subject of a bid from Juventus.
Sanchez has played as a central striker for the majority of this season so far and is currently the third-highest goalscorer in the league. The Chilean has recently come out to say that he is ‘comfortable’ at the London club but has been locked in negotiations with the club for months with reports claiming that he is demanding in excess of £200,000 per week.
Il Bianconeri are four points clear at the top of Serie A with a game in hand and would surely run away with the title if they were to add Sanchez to an already impressive strikeforce of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.
Arsene Wenger is also willing to listen to offers, both loan and permanent, for right-back Carl Jenkinson with West Ham the current frontrunners for the defender.
Hull City and Crystal Palace are also reportedly interested in the Englishman but the Hammers are seemingly in pole position as the defender has already been at the club since 2014 on loan.
