Australia grabbed the upper hand at tea on the first test match against India at Adelaide. Opener David Warner, who went to lunch on an unbeaten 77 resumed from where he let and reached his 10th test century in quick time. Supporting him on the other hand was Michael Clarke who looked insane in his 84 ball 60 before his own back, which was his nemesis in the past few years troubled him once again as he retired and went to the dressing room. Steve Smith and David Warner remain unbeaten on 13 and 131 respectively. None of the Indian bowlers seemed to trouble the Aussie batsmen.

Lunch Report:

It was all about David Warner in the first session of day 1 of the first test match between Australia and India at Adelaide. After choosing to bat, the Aussies end the session at 113-2 when the umpires called for lunch. Warner remained unbeaten on an aggressive 73 ball 77 and shared an unbroken partnership of 25 for the third wicket with skipper Michael Clarke who was batting on 9 when the bails were drawn.

Indian bowlers had no clues against Warner as he went berserk against the Indian new ball bowlers who tried to cramp Warner for room by bowling from around the wicket. Warner raced to 35 off 17 balls inside the first four overs bowled by Mohammad Shami and Varun Aaron. India’s most experienced bowler Ishant Sharma came into the crease and applied the brakes on the scoring rate. Soon he dismissed Chris Rogers for 9, who nicked straight to the hands of Shikhar Dhawan in the slips.

Shane Watson started off shakily but looked in a fine touch during his short stay at crease which was ended by Varun Aaron for 14 after he was caught by Dhawan in the slips. In the mean-time, Warner completed his 13th test fifty off just 45 balls. Clarke, who was greeted by an array of bouncers, is batting steadily. Indian bowlers struggled a bit early on but came back into the groove after the early onslaught by Warner.

India, led by Virat Kohli have handed Karn Sharma his first Test Cap and are going in with four front bowlers with Rohit Sharma playing as an extra batsmen.
