WWE Rumor: John Cena To Win The WWE Championship At Royal Rumble 1

This year’s Royal Rumble will witness the WWE championship match between AJ Styles and John Cena. The reigning champion, Styles, who was brilliant last year, will defend it against a so-called part-timer, John Cena who will be hunting his 16th WWE World championship at the PPV set to take place on January 29th.

As per reports from Inquistr.com, John Cena is almost confirmed to win his 16th world championship to tie the record of the Nature Boy, Ric Flair at the Rumble event. The WWE creative thinks that it’s a better idea to let Cena have the championship which has been on hold from the past couple of years.

The decision will certainly face some major backlash from the fans who does think that the franchise has not done anything incredible to have the championship opportunity against Styles. He was defeated in the last two bouts against Styles. Plus, he was also the one who won via pinfall during the Triple Threat championship match at No Mercy.

So, the same source is suggesting that this year’s Royal Rumble event will be dominated by the part-timers. Even the official poster of the PPV released by WWE features Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, John Cena and Goldberg at the front row. These all are part-timers who are back in the scene since it’s the beginning of the Wrestlemania season.

The regular faces like AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose or Wyatts have featured on the same poster at the very last. Fans gave major thumb downs to the fact that Styles’ face has become almost invincible in the poster despite him being the current WWE champion.
Furthermore, the Undertaker is the most favorite to win the Royal Rumble match and go on to the main event of Wrestlemania, once again. This certainly indicates the fact that this year, the Rumble might be dominated by the part-timers, indeed. These are all rumors at this point as we have to wait till WWE comes live with the PPV from Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
