With the names like Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Undertaker entering the Royal Rumble match, the hype has just got even bigger for 2017. The 30th edition of the prestigious Rumble event is going to be a huge one and Ric Flair has picked up none other than Goldberg to win the Rumble event.
Recently, the Nature Boy opened up about the recent happenings of Goldberg and Lesnar on his own wrestling podcast, The Ric Flair show. He said the WWE has seen a huge success after vesting the Myth into the main event of Survivor Series.
It has turned out to be one of the most successful PPV of the year 2016. So, it will not be a bad idea either if the WWE allows the Icon to win it and then the main event at Wrestlemania 33. It’ll be a money drawer for both the parties.
Meanwhile, he also said he was much worried about Goldberg’s fitness and his ability to compete for a full-length match against him. Hence, the squash match was arranged in Goldberg’s favor.
“My only concern was my worry of him being ready; not to faults of his own, but be ready to be bounced around by Brock, but he didn’t have to experience it, so I’m happy for both of them.”
He also hinted that a rematch is certainly in the making. All the parties in this feud are earning money from this feud and hence there’s no reason to discontinue it.
“It’s hard to figure out what goes through Brock’s mind, but it was great for Goldberg, and our favorite saying is “what’s good for business. They will have a great rematch there, and I’ve talked to Bill and he wants to work some more. They both are making a lot of money, especially Brock.”
Flair further stated a match between Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar was previously planned for Wrestlemania. But that is canceled for now. Triple H vs. Shane O Mac will be a better feud for Mania, in his view.
