WWE News: Jim Ross Says WWE Is Turning Roman Reigns Heel For Wrestlemania 1

Quite expectedly, the Alamodome was not any different while booing Roman Reigns. The negative reactions were even bigger with the 60,000 capacity of the arena. But the patience of the crowd seemed no bound when Reigns went on to enter into the Royal Rumble match at number 30. The crowd was expecting a surprising entrance of Finn Balor, Kenny Omega or Samoa Joe.

When it turned out to be Reigns again, there was a huge portion of the crowd who reportedly left the arena. Furthermore, he eliminated the Undertaker from the Rumble match to get booed universally.

Some of the fans have speculated why the WWE is booking the supposed poster boy so bad to get even worse reactions. But if we see the consequences then there’s might be a motive and it might be to turn Roman Reigns into a heel.

According to a veteran commentator, Jim Ross, the Wrestlemania season might be the time when the much-anticipated heel-turn will take place. This is due to the fact that the Big Dog has to go against the greatest of all time, the Undertaker at his own home-turf of Wrestlemania. So, turning him into a villain will give his career a major boost. The following is what the WWE might do according to JR:

“Seems to me that WWE is perhaps positioning Reigns to become a villain and if that is true Roman Reigns can be one of the biggest stars in WWE which is always the goal no matter if one is ‘fish or fowl.’ A great, ‘heel run’ will obviously do more for Reigns to be eventually become a major fan favorite than anything that WWE can seemingly do at this time.
If Reigns were to defeat Undertaker at WM in Orlando, it would propel Reigns to the next level of villainy and a star would be born one has to assume.”

Ever since Reigns eliminated Undertaker from the Rumble match, the fans speculated about a feud between them. But going against the Phenome will not earn him any positive reactions for sure. So, this will indeed be a good decision on WWE’s part to save his drowning career.
