Tottenham Hotspur are set to rekindle their interest in signing Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, according to The Mirror.
The Frenchman had found it difficult under Jose Mourinho this season as the manager has not favored Martial on the left wing with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Lingard also fighting for the same place.
The 21-year old is one of the most prolific scorers for Manchester United last season as he has scored 17 goals for the club across all competitions making him the top scorer for Red Devils.
However, he has not featured much this season despite looking impressive. He has also scored last weekend in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Watford while he set up the other goal for Mata.
La Liga outfit Sevilla and French giants PSG are keen on signing the player but the Mirror claim that Tottenham are the front runners for the talented youngster.
Spurs have tried to sign him from AS Monaco in 2015 but Manchester United have stepped in and paid a record price for a teenager at that time to bring him to Old Trafford. With reports suggesting Manchester United are set to buy Antoine Griezmann, the position of Martial will be a concern for the club and he could be available for sale as early as summer.
Mourinho has criticized the player publicly at the start of the season and the situation has improved only a little since then as he still awaits for more opportunities in the first team. He has so far scored only seven goals for the club across all competitions.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of the youngster and a move to Whitehart Lane would surely revive the career of the Frenchman. However, he will need to take a massive pay cut for a move to North London club but he will have a good chance to become a more developed player under Pochettino.
