Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad had retained the core of the team that had led them to the title last year and so they did not go for any big name in the auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Instead, they made some smart buys which is set to strengthen their team even more.
Having released bowling all-rounder Karn Sharma, the Hyderabad-based franchise bolstered their spin department by signing Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Pravin Tambe. They also signed fast-bowlers Chris Jordan and Ben Laughlin who can play as a backup if their injury-prone pace spearhead Mustafizur Rahman gets injured.
In total, they bought eight players and have a squad of 25 players, including nine overseas players to choose from going into IPL 2017.
