Chelsea star N’Golo Kante has been named London Premier League player of the year on Thursday night.
The 25-year old midfielder beat teammate Diego Costa, Tottenham stars Dele Alli and Danny Rose and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to the award.
The France international, who arrived at the Stamford Bridge in the summer after playing a pivotal role in Leicester City’s historic triumphant campaign last season, has been one of the main reasons for Chelsea’s remarkable turnaround this term. The Blues finished a lowly tenth last season but are now sitting at the top of the Premier League with a 10-point lead over second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was named Manager of the Year for his brilliant work with the Blues. The Italian tactician, who arrived at Chelsea in summer, saw off competition from Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Millwall boss Neil Harris, Fulham’s Slavisa Jokanovic and Neal Ardley of AFC Wimbledon to claim the award.

It was also a special night for Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who was presented with a special award for his outstanding contribution to London Football. The former England international, who announced his retirement last month, won 11 major trophies in his illustrious 13-year career at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Tottenham stopper Hugo Lloris saw off competition from his Chelsea counterpart Thibaut Courtois to win the London Goalkeeper of the Year award while his teammate Dele Alli was presented with the Young Player Of The year award.
