As a mark of respect for the casualties of the assault on the office of a magazine in the Paris will be given as a minute of silence in the following round of matches.

 

French Football League (LFP) announced that all the next Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches will start ahead with a minute of silence regarding the Wednesday’s shooting in the French capital.

 

The shooting which occurred on Wednesday 7th January 2015 shocked the whole world since Policeman and staff members of French Magazine Charlie Hebdo lost their lives in the  attack.

 

A nationwide manhunt is undergoing to find the suspected gunmen who ran from the scene.

 

With the whole France in deep shock the French Football League issued a statement that a minute’s silence will be held at all matches in both tiers over the next fixtures.

 

Lille’s match against Evian which was delayed on Wednesday started with a minute of silence at Stade Pierre Mauroy.

 

“A minute’s silence will precede the weekend meetings of the 20th day of Ligue 1 and the 19th day of Ligue 2,” read an LFP statement.

 

“This evening, a minute of silence will be observed before the match between Evian and Lille, a game delayed from the 14th round of Ligue 1.”
