Lukas Podolski affirmed that he didn’t get a farewell before swapping Arsenal for Inter on advance; however the Gunners manager has come forward and denied this by saying that the truth was altogether different.
Arsene Wenger has completely denied allegations that he reprimanded Lukas Podolski before the German joined Inter from Arsenal on loan.
Lukas joined Inter for the remaining season after the striker couldn’t establish himself and was benched most of the time by making just sixty appearances for the Gunners from 2012, after he joined Arsenal from Koln.
The German gave harsh statements against Wenger stating that the Frenchman didn’t even which him goodbye before he left Arsenal to join Milan, but Wenger denies this by sayig that the truth is completely different.
Arsene Wenger came forward and told the reporters, “I deny it completely, We spoke many times. I had many conversations with him. Without my agreement, he couldn’t go on loan.”
The 29 year old striker stated that he will remain as a Gunner forever and Wenger didnt show him much respect.
Podolski told the Sun, “He said nothing to me, He did not call me or say goodbye.
“I don’t need flowers or a kiss from him. But it is about respect, about saying goodbye. For me respect is important. Maybe he had other problems with me.
“I did everything for the club I possibly could have. I don’t believe I did anything wrong. I did not get drunk in a club.
“I wish all of Arsenal and their amazing fans the very best for this season and I see myself as a Gunner. Nothing from him to me, though, but that is his way.”
