5 Hot-Headed Cricketers In International Cricket 1

Indian Test captain is a very busy cricketer. He wants everything fast. He is a very expressive cricketer. If he does well, can’t hide his pleasure, so when he failed to execute his plan during a match he gets frustrated.  In 2012 he was touring Australia for the first time in his career. Indians were bundled out by Australia in four-match series. The only positive point was Virat Kohli who scored a hundred at Adelaide Oval.  But at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) the notorious Australian cricket fans found Virat fielding at the boundary line who provoked him.

Virat got angry and showed them his middle finger during the match. After the end of the match, Virat defended his actions saying, “I agree cricketers don’t have to retaliate. What when the crowd says the worst things about your mother and sister. The worst I have heard.” England batsman tweeted in support of Virat, ‘Welcome to Australia buddy!! That is the way it is mate…beat them they start abusing their own!!”

However, this is not the only occasion when Virat got involved with Australians. In 2014 India’s tour of Australia Virat counter sledged Mitchell Sledged and in 2015 he abused Ajinkya Rahane as he got run out against South Africa. He is surely among the hot-headed cricketers in the world.

Controversies are an integral Pakistani cricketers’ life.  Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan once arrested for torturing his wife. The retired Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman was booked by the police after his wife Tasleem alias Shama Seher made a phone call complaining she had been beaten. According to Town Police Officer (TPO) ASP Azad Khan, a police team reached  Moin’s house at midnight to find the former cricketer screaming at the top of his voice at his wife doubting her fidelity.

After some jostling, Moin was taken in preventive detention under Section 151 of criminal proceeding law 152, the TPO said. The couple later was taken to Darakhsshan police station from where Moin was taken for a medical examination. Shama was also taken for a medical examination for injuries.

”If injuries are reported by the doctors examining her or a blood test confirms that he was intoxicated, the law will take its course,” said the TPO.

Shama later told Daily Times that Moin doubted her fidelity and hit under the influence of alcohol.

”This isn’t something new, it’s been like this for a while,” she said. ”He accused me of being involved with his friends. I asked why he was beating me and he told me that he hated the look of my face,” she added.

”Things were normal but I don’t know what had happened as recently he started to get harsh after drinking. I think that Moin still thinks of himself as a… star,” said Shama, who is in show business.

Turning the heat on her husband, she alleged Moin of having affairs and said, ”Cricketers have the same life … cricketers treat their wives like this,” she said. Moin, accompanied by a friend, later came after being released on bail to collect his belongings.

Captain Virat Kohli praises team’s all-round performance!

With seamer, Mohammad Shami taking the wicket of Matt Henry Indian players celebrate a 178-run victory against New Zealand at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. With the victory at the Eden Gardens, India has become the No. 1 team in ICC Test ranking.

Thanks to Virat Kohli’s aggressive captaincy that created a pressure on the Kiwi batsmen. New Zealand were 104 for 2, so it was a big collapse that helped India to win the series, with the final and third Test to be played at Indore.

Mohammad Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each.

Captain Virat Kohli praised his team, following the 178 runs victory. He appreciated all-round performances of his team, particularly players like pacers Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who was adjudged man of the match for his half-century in both innings of the match.

“Lovely Test match. Was a brilliant Test wicket apart from the uneven bounce here and there. It’s a wanted venue in India. Bowlers did well. Saha did well and Shami and Bhuvi contributing. We expect a fight from a side like New Zealand.

Talking about Wriddhiman Saha, Virat said, “Saha is the best keeper in the country and he is doing a great job. It is wonderful behind the stumps and can bat. He backs himself and can bat with the tail. Backs himself to play his shots.”

He was also asked about India’s first innings where Cheteshwar Pujara scored 80 and Rahne scored 77. In the second innings, it was Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha who helped India to salvage the innings after New Zealand took four quick wickets.

“In the 1st innings, we threw it away. In the second, NZ bowlers were good. Rohit was good and we all know about his love affair with Eden Gardens. I think in the last session when we wanted wickets, the crowd helped up pick them. That made a massive difference to Shami and put extra pressure on the new batsmen. To keep playing consistent cricket is our aim, and if we do that, with a long home season, we can be there. We have played really good cricket for the last one and a half years,” Kohli said.

Meanwhile, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a happy man to get back his rhythm.

The Uttar Pradesh pacer, who took five wickets in the first innings and one wicket in the second innings, said, “In India, we generally don’t get this kind of wickets (with grass cover) and I was just trying to make the most of it. It’s always good to be in the mix, you always work hard to play the match and when you contribute, it’s always special. Thanks to the physio and trainer, they really worked hard and pushed me to work hard (talking about his recovery from a troublesome ankle),” Kumar stated.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also said that the time he spent out of the team helped him to gain the confidence as he understood the pain of being dropped from the team.

“When you are out from the team or not fit, you get matured in terms what you need to do to come back into the game and improve your game. I always enjoy bowling with Shami, especially when the ball reverses. He’s a great character. He’s the laziest in the team, but when he’s on the field he gives 100 percent. It’s a pleasure to know that the team is ranked No. 1. And to contribute to the win is great. It’s a sweet victory for us.”

The health of Test cricket in India remains good: Virender Sehwag

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag said that Test cricket doesn’t need to reforms as the current formats  are enough to bring fans to the ground.  If the quality is good people will watch the game.

“The Test format is very good. There is no need to change. You don’t need to introduce the pink ball to draw the spectators,” Sehwag said on Sunday (October 2), in Kolkata, during a panel interaction on the occasion of sports magazine Sportstar’s launch of a book to commemorate India’s 500th Test match, which was recently played in Kanpur.

“If good teams like Pakistan, Australia, and England come, people will come to the ground automatically and support,” the former opener added.

The Indian team in recent time have played good Test cricket as they have won last three series. Sehwag believes the health of Test cricket remains healthy in India.

“This I can say, looking at the coach and the Indian team. The real test for any cricketer lies in Test cricket. It is every young cricketer’s dream to play Test matches. The future is good,” he said.

Meanwhile, current Indian coach Anil Kumble said that Test cricket is far from the ‘death bed’ as media portray.

“I’ll urge every cricket lover, opinion makers, and various stakeholders to stop discussing the death of Test cricket. I’m sure people would have spoken about the death of Test cricket probably even during the times of Kerry Packer,” he said.

The legendary leg-spinner dismissed the believe that the advent of T20 cricket has forced , people to stay way from Test cricket.

The social media is a great platform to promote Test cricket. You don’t need to sit through six hours. There’s notification on smartphones through which you can follow Test cricket,” Kumble said.

“If all of us keep on talking about the death of Test cricket, then ultimately it would happen,” the legendary Indian captain added.
