2019 World Cup: Watch – KL Rahul Kicks the Ball in Utter Frustration after his Dismissal
Team India batsman KL Rahul, who had a mega opportunity to prove his credentials during the first practice match against New Zealand at the Kennington Oval in London on Saturday (May 25). But much to his dismay Rahul’s stay at the crease came to a halt after ten deliveries when Trent Boult castled him.
Meanwhile, Rahul, who struck a fine four in his tally of six. Well, further he couldn’t do much on a surface which is true for the batting despite a hint of movement. Boult, who dismissed Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan accounted for Rahul’s wicket while bowling the third delivery of sixth over of Men in Blue’s innings.
With No.4 spot a massive cause of concern for India in the recent past, Rahul had an opportunity to deliver according to the expectations. But the man in form couldn’t capitalise on it before walking back to the hut.
Interestingly, he is playing his first World Cup for the Men in Blue led by Virat Kohli.
2019 World Cup: How KL Rahul got dismissed –
Rahul tried to gently push the back of a length delivery bowled by Boult, but he has chopped on himself when the inside edge saw the ball rolling on to the stumps to dash his hopes.
Boult bowled 6.2 overs to snare four wickets while conceding 33 runs. It eventually helped the Black Caps to restrict India at 179 in 39.2 overs.
However, when India was reeling at 115 for eight in 28.4 overs, Ravindra Jadeja has changed the gears which eventually saw resistance from Kuldeep Yadav. The southpaw Jadeja has slammed a fine 50-ball 54 with the help of six fours and two sixes.
Meanwhile, Rahul, who has failed in his audition has although a change against Bangladesh. India will face Mashrafe Mortaza-led side in their second warm-up game on February 28.
