5 Players MS Dhoni Never Used Despite Being In The Squad

5 Players MS Dhoni Never Used Despite Being In The Squad; Well, there are many cricketers, whose career really doesn’t blossom despite reaching the highest level. Despite breaking into the 15-man squad of the Indian National Cricket Team, they failed to get into the playing XI of the team, which saw many careers going down. Unfortunately, they never got the chance thus missing out a place in the Indian Dressing Room.

Sometimes, the scenario is not only in the Indian team but also in domestic cricket, which would put an end gate for the youngsters. Meanwhile, in one of those interesting aspects, we came up with 5 players, who missed a chance to be in the playing XI despite being picked in the squad that was led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

5. Ishwar Pandey:

202 wickets in 56 matches with an average of 26 which is pretty good in Ranji trophy. Those stats which he registered in 2017 saw him in the Indian National Cricket Team, which was being led by his IPL skipper MS Dhoni. However, in 2019, he is nowhere in the picture.

He is well known for his consistent bowling. A good pace bowler with a bright future. Gave a lot of match-winning spells to Chennai Super Kings during his times. However, despite that, surprisingly, MS Dhoni didn’t use him during the International match.

Ishwar Pandey was rewarded with a spot in the Indian team that travelled to New Zealand in early 2014. He even played a couple of tour games but could never make it to the XI. Following the series, he was roped in for Asia cup but unfortunately, failed to get the nod under different skipper, as MS Dhoni was rested.

4. Karn Sharma:

Many remember Karn Sharma for the 2014 Adelaide Test where he was surprisingly thrown into the container of red-ball cricket. However, it didn’t turn out well for the team, as he failed to make things fall in place.

Despite that, the year was a good one for the leggie as he shone in the IPL season, overshadowing the more senior stars. That enabled him to make his international debut on the England tour that year during the T20I series and consequently got initiated in the 50-overs format as well.

Though Virat Kohli tried him in the International cricket, MS Dhoni always considered Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin as his prime weapons. It certainly didn’t allow MS Dhoni to consider other options.

3. N Jagadeesan:

Yeah, it is unfortunate for N Jagadeesan to play for Chennai Super Kings. This man got all the goods in his kitty but MS Dhoni being the main wicket-keeper, who also leads the team, didn’t open chances for Jagadeesan. If Jagadeesan played for any other franchise, he would have easily played 50-60 IPL games by now.

He has been a phenomenal cricketer from Tamil Nadu. A regular run-scorer and impressed one and all whenever he got opportunities in domestic cricket. However, Jagadeesan could earn a spot in the playing XI in the upcoming season, as he is carrying a solid form.

2. Baba Aparajith:

Yet another unlucky cricketer. He is right there with Chennai Super Kings for quite a period of time, however, the flamboyant batsman never got the opportunity. From Under-19 cricketer to the senior-most in the side, Baba Aparajith saw everything in domestic cricket but didn’t get a chance to represent CSK under MS Dhoni.

He is an aspiring all-rounder, who was a part of the victorious 2012 World Cup-winning India team. Baba is one of those cricketers, who never got the opportunity to showcase his skills in the Indian Premier League.

1. Kuldeep Yadav:

Yeah, surprised? But, yes, Kuldeep Yadav is one of them, who never got the chance under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.  Kuldeep, a rare breed of chinaman bowlers in the modern-day, had revived the art out of its grave along with a handful of other young chinamen. He set the 2014 Under-19 World Cup alight by becoming India’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament.

He grabbed the deal for Kolkata Knight Riders and delivered match-winning spells for the team. All the good work helped him to seal a spot in the Indian team, which was being led by MS Dhoni against West Indies.

However much like Karn Sharma, Dhoni went with his regular spinners, who are at their prime. After a fine time, he made his debut for India and surviving well under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
