India National Cricket Team has a major chance to bring the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 trophy home from Australia. Currently, the team is trying every possible combination who can lead the team to victory. From the experienced campaigners to youngsters, every cricketer is being given a chance to showcase their talent and put the nation on the top of the charts on the basis of sheer performance.
The fight for the T20 World Cup trophy will start from October this year. The cup is still eight-and-a-half-month far, but the teams are in full swing. The players are fighting hard for their respective positions while some are trying hard to gain the spot in the team.
Here, we will discuss the players who haven’t retire yet, but it is expected that they may not be the part of India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2020 squad.
Dinesh Karthik:
The wicketkeeper-batsman has not featured in the Indian team after the World Cup 2019. During the mega event, he got only three chances, one of them was in the semi-finals where he could not create an impact which India eventually lost against the Black Caps. He has been since then dropped from the team.
However, Karthik is regular on the domestic side, captaining Tamil Nadu. He also leads his team to the finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019-20 but lost the match to Karnataka in both the competitions.
Seeing the current Indian team position, it’s difficult for 34-year-old to earn the place in the Indian team. He has played 32 T20I and 94 ODI. Talking about domestic cricket, he has played 288 T20s for Tamil Nadu. He is far from being an option for the T20 World Cup 2020 as he hasn’t played international cricket for a long time.
