India ended the first innings of the second Test match with the big total. Captain Virat Kohli had a big day as he scored a double century, Ajinkya Rahane scored a half-century and Ravindra Jadeja also ended with scoring 91 runs.

India scored a big total of 601 runs which might be difficult for the visitors to reply. As Faf du Plessis-led team has lost three wickets at the end of the day, the Proteas will have to work harder to manage a strong reply.

“It was important to play that one hour really well in the morning. We were thinking about 500+. The manner in which Virat and Jaddu batted, it looked so easy from the outside. I don’t think it’s a 600+ wicket, it’s a 450-500 runs wicket,” Ajinkya said.

Pitch will help to fast bowler: Ajinkya Rahane

He opines that the pitch will help the fast bowlers if they get the correct angle. Ajinkya opines that it will help fast bowler and also Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja too.

“Bowlers will really enjoy. If we can bowl in the right areas, we’ll win by a good margin. Fast bowlers have good assistance if they bowl in the right areas. The ball is turning, Ashwin and Jadeja can bowl on any track,” Ajinkya said.

The second day of the second Test match ended with visitors scoring 36 runs with the loss of three wickets. Pacer Umesh Yadav was given chance in the squad after Jasprit Bumrah was injured.
