After observing the recent Test matches in India, former English captain Michael Vaughan has slammed the Indian Test cricket pitches.

South Africa are currently busy in the Test series in India. The hosts India thrashed the Proteas side in the first Test at Visakhapatnam in last week. Indian batsmen dominated at the beginning as they scored 502/7 (decl.) the first innings. While South Africa managed to score 431 runs in their first innings, India managed to set the fourth innings target of 395 runs after scoring 323/4 (decl.) in their second innings.

On the final day of that Test match, South African batting totally collapsed as they were bundled out for just 191 runs. India won that match by 203 runs.

The first two days of the second Test at Pune have brought out very similar pictures. Indian batsmen once again dominated the first two days as they managed to set the first innings total of 601/5 decl. At the end of day two, South African batting is struggling on 36/3.

While Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal dominated in the first Test, Indian captain Virat Kohli dominated the day two of the Pune Test after Mayank’s century in day one. In both these Test matches, the Proteas bowlers hugely struggled to pick up the wickets. In the first Test, the Indian bowlers also struggled to take wickets on day three.

Observing these Indian Test pitches, Michael Vaughan has felt very disappointed. He feels boring as the Indian pitches are hugely favouring the batsmen for the first 3/4 days of the Test matches. Mentioning his thought of the day, Vaughan claims that the pitches need to be better for the bowlers.
