Rayudu opens up on his 3D tweet
The 33-year-old decision to retirement came on the back of repeated ignorance from the selectors. Many heled chief selector MSK Prasad responsible for shortening his international career. The selectors ignored him as a replacement for Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar despite being in the five-member standbys. Former cricketers stood by Rayudu saying that he has alot of cricket left in him.
Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu took on the selectors after MSK Prasad-led committee preferred Vijay Shankar over him for his three-dimensional qualities. While many think that his 3d glass tweet played a role in his snubbing, the cricketer doesn’t think so.
“Not at all. If it comes down to such things…I don’t know how to put it, but I don’t think that would’ve played any part. And if it did, I can’t imagine what cricketers must be going through honestly,” Rayudu said.

“I was very disappointed,” Rayudu says while adding “I mean, anyone would be because I had worked so hard for it. I was very prepared for that specific role at No. 4, but maybe their idea of No. 4 might have changed all of a sudden. Maybe they just wanted something else…I’m not too sure.”
Ambati Rayudu is likely to play for Hyderabad this season and turn up for the Chennai franchise in the next IPL. But there is no news on whether he will ever get to play international cricket again as of now.
