It is the day one of the only Test between the hosts Bangladesh and visitors Afghanistan at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (Chittagong). Shakib Al Hasan is leading the Bangladesh team while Afghanistan has come up with a new Test captain Rashid Khan.

The leg-spinner Rashid Khan has started his new journey as an Afghanistan Test captain at the age of 20 years and 350 days.
On Thursday, Rashid Khan broke the 15-year-old record. Previously, the former Zimbabwe wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu was holding this record for more than last 15 years. At the age of 20 years and 358 days, he led the Zimbabwe Test side for the first time against Sri Lanka at Harare on 6th May 2004. On that day, he broke almost the 42-year-old record which was held by the former Indian cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi (21 years and 77 days).

Rashid Khan is the youngest captain in international cricket history
However, Rashid Khan is holding the record of youngest captain in international cricket history for more than one year. On 4th March 2018, during the Group B match of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 against Scotland at Bulawayo, Rashid Khan achieved this feat. At the age of just 19 years and 165 days, he became the youngest captain in international cricket history. It was also the record of youngest ODI captain.
The ongoing Test match is the third Test match of Afghanistan national cricket team. In June 2018, Afghanistan played their first-ever Test match and that was against India at Bengaluru. India won that match by an innings and 262 runs.
In last March, Afghanistan played their second Test match against Ireland at Dehradun. After the brilliant performances, Afghanistan won that match by seven wickets. It was their first-ever Test victory.

Rashid Khan played both those Test matches for Afghanistan and took a total of nine wickets.
