Indian cricketer Suresh Raina is an attacking middle-order batsman who very well knows how to handle pressure when the top order fails to live up to the expectations. The southpaw, who has not played for India since 2018, has once said that he wants to play for India. His Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Ambati Rayudu has come out in his support, saying that Raina has a ‘lot of cricket left in him’.

Raina has been dropped from the team because of his degrading performance. Last year, he also went under knee surgery and was unavailable to play. The 33-year-old was ready to play the IPL 2020, which has been postponed indefinitely in the wake of coronavirus. His performance in the 13th edition of the league might have increased his chance to play again for India.

Speaking on CSK’s Instagram Live session, Rayudu is assured that Raina will play for India again because he believes that he has a talent that can help the team.

“He has a lot of cricket left in him..I am putting a bet on it that he would make a comeback for India,” Ambati Rayudu said.

Rayudu, further in the interview, revealed that he had known Raina since he was 16. So, he was feeling nostalgic when he was training with him in CSK camp ahead of the league.

Earlier in March, CSK training camp had started in MA Chidambaram Stadium. The camp was attended by skipper MS Dhoni, Raina and Rayudu. Thousands of people gathered in the stadium to watch Dhoni and other players. However, nobody would have ever imagined that the unprecedented virus would halt all the entertainment. With the number of cases increasing, there is no assurity that when the game will resume.
