Buzz for next year Indian Premier League (IPL) has started as BCCI has announced the date of players’ auction. The franchises are reshuffling and changing the staff. According to the telegraph.co.uk, Rajasthan Royals (RR) can rope the former England coach Andy Flower as the head coach. Andrew Strauss and Clive Woodward are involved in the appointment of RR’s new coach. They have shortlisted Andy’s name for the post.

The 13th edition of the league is to start from April next year, as per reports. Team management of the franchises has started engaging to coaches for the next season.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals at the sixth and seventh spot in the IPL 2019 points table are finding the new head coaches which can lead the team to the trophy. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has roped Simon Katich as the head coach and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also changed their head coach to Brendon McCullum.

Andy Flower is in the race for both Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals

Andy Flower has great experience in coaching. He was appointed as the assistant coach of the England team in 2007. His post was upgraded to Head coach after two years. England won the  T20 World Cup in 2010, under his guidance.

England performance was developing under his coaching but in Ashes 2013/14 the team was badly defeated by Australia. This led to the removal of him from the position of head coach.

Andy Flower has coached Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL). His demand is increasing as KXIP are also considering him for the job of head coach, as reported by the Mumbai Mirror.

In the last season, RR ended in the seventh spot under the head coach Paddy Upton. Andy will replace him to become the head coach. RR in the last season won 5 matches out of 14.
