Shahid Afridi Names Pakistan Batsman Who Can Score Double Hundred
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has named the Pakistan batsman who can score a double century in One Day International format. Afridi believes Babar Azam can score a double century for the team. Azam is in great form and there is no doubt that he can score a big knock for the Pakistan team. Afridi also added the stylish batsman is the backbone of the team.
On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman is the only Pakistan batsman who has scored a double century in the 50-overs version. Meanwhile, Babar Azam has been a consistent performer for the team. The flamboyant batsman had scored a fine century in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. This was the 11th ODI hundred for the right-hander and he had become the third-fastest to the landmark. after Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock.
Babar Azam is the backbone of the batting line-up.
Babar Azam was also able to better Virat Kohli’s record. Kohli had achieved the milestone in 82 innings whereas Azam scored 11 centuries in 71 innings. Babar Azam is often compared with Virat Kohli and Azam has the skills to be a batsman like the Indian captain.
Shahid Afridi heaped praise on Babar Azam and said that the youngster should try to score big knocks for the team.
“I say to Babar Azam I want you to play long innings and you are not just a 50 runs type player, rather you are capable of scoring 100, 150 or 200,” Afridi said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel. “You are the backbone of the team and a consistent performer for Pakistan.”
Babar Azam has all the ingredients to be a big player for Pakistan. He has had a great start to his international career and he would like to continue the good show going. The right-hander is consistently churning out the runs for Pakistan. The talismanic batsman was also the highest run-getter for Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2019 as he had scored 474 runs in eight innings.
