Skipper Virat Kohli has made new records on the second day of the second Test match against South Africa. He scored a double century in the Pune grounds which is his seventh double ton in Test career.

On the second day of the Second Test match against the Proteas, Virat scored unbeaten 254 runs, most by the Indian Test skipper. He also crossed the 7000-run mark in Test cricket and also become the third-fastest Indian to achieve this feat. Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar recorded it at 134 and 136 innings respectively. Virat scored 7000 runs in the 138th innings.
The century in Pune ground was his 69th century in International cricket. If he plays consistently, Virat will surely break the record of Sachin Tendulkar of 100 international centuries.
Also, he is playing the 50th Test match as the captain and under him, India has won 29 Test matches. He is the most successful Test captain of India and he is also leading the No.1 Test team.
Virat Kohli is on No.2 in the ICC Test batting ranking. He will surely regain his position on No.1 in the ranking. During Ashes 2019, Steve Smith scored 774 runs and replaced Virat Kohli for the first position.
Meanwhile, on the second day, Ravindra Jadeja scored 91 runs and Ajinkya Rahane also scored a half-century which helped India to set the first innings total of 601 runs. At the end of the second day, Proteas had lost their three crucial wickets after scoring 36 runs.
