The young left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar, the son of renowned batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday (August 7), has been named in Mumbai’s 15-man squad for the upcoming Vizzy Trophy. The competition will get underway on August 22.

The 19-year-old Arjun had earlier featured in the T20 Mumbai League. The bowling all-rounder Arjun, who’s eyeing to make it big at the domestic level, is yet featuring in different leagues to make his statement.

With Arjun yet to perform consistently to make a mark to break into the first-class leg, he has set his hopes high to leave an impact in the home-based competitions.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has named the squad which includes some fascinating names. However, Arjun has grabbed headlines since he has been into the limelight for being a son of legendary cricketer, Sachin.

In 2018, Arjun had made his India Under-19 debut during Sri Lanka tour. He had partaken in the multi-day format. Besides, he was not the part of One-dayers which would not eventually see him making it to the procedure for the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

The youngster had made debut in T20 Mumbai League where he fetched INR 5 lakhs. Interestingly, Sachin had served as the brand ambassador.

Although, his team had lost the game against SOBO Supersonics at iconic Wankhede Stadium after making into the semi-final.

Overall, Arjun had performed decently both with bat and ball. He has even opened the innings for the franchise.

Besides, he had partaken in the Marylebone Cricket Club Young Cricketers.

Arjun is also known for injuring Jonny Bairstow following a searing Yorker which latter coupled on his toe. He would be keen to make inroads after bowling in nets in England.

Meanwhile, Hardik Tamore will lead Mumbai in the Vizzy Trophy.
