Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli achieved this massive feat when he took a stunning one-handed catch of Nepal opener Aasif Sheikh in the 30th over of the game on Monday. The former Indian skipper had a mixed day on the field, as he missed a sitter in the 2nd over of Mohammed Siraj.

The 34-year-old currently occupies the fourth spot in the most catches list surpassing the legendary Ross Taylor in the ODI cricket. Despite not batting in the game against Nepal, Virat Kohli has entered the record books following his sensational one-handed catch to achieve this feat in 50-over cricket.

Virat Kohli became the second Indian cricketer next to the former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin to complete 100 catches as a non-wicketkeeper to achieve this massive feat in multi-national events.

Sri Lanka legendary skipper Mahela Jayawardene leads the list with 218 catches in the ODI format followed by Ricky Ponting and Mohammad Azharuddin in the most number of catches in ODI Cricket.

Virat Kohli now has 143 catches in ODI format and he would like to add more going forward into his last few years in International cricket. The former Indian skipper is 13 catches behind Mohammad Azharuddin in the total tally of catches.

Virat Kohli, who made his international debut in August 2008, had since been in Midas touch despite hiccups in between. Apart from being a great batsman and successful captain, he is also a top-level fielder who always remains energetic on the field and the Indian veteran would look to continue his fine work in the field going forward.
