Australia vs India 2nd T20I: India's players rating

India won the 2nd T20I against Australia at Melbourne on Friday and ensured first ever bilateral series win against Australia in Australia. Australia sent India to bat first after winning the toss. India scored 184/3 in 20 overs while Australia only managed 157 runs in reply for the loss of 8 wickets despite a good opening partnership. India won the match by 27 runs and Virat Kohli gets man of the match award.

India’s players rating of the 2nd T20I match are in the following:  

Rohit Sharma- TheIndian opener continued imperious form in the international cricket as he made another half-century in T20I cricket. Rohit scored 60 runs in just 47 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He unluckily got run-out after a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli.

Shikhar Dhawan- Shikhar Dhawan again proved that he is back in form as played another good knock and involved a great opening partnership along with Rohit Sharma. Dhawan made his highest T20I score of 42 runs in just 32 balls though he missed an easy catch at an important phase during the Australian innings.

Virat Kohli- Once again Virat Kohli played a great knock of unbeaten 59 runs in just 33 balls with 7 fours and 1 sixes. His knock helped Indian team to put a good total on the match. At the end, he was selected the man of the match award for his outstanding knock.

MS Dhoni- Indian skipper MS Dhoni played a handy knock of 14 runs in 9 balls with 2 fours at the end of the 1st innings. While fielding, he effected two stumpings and one catch along with a run-out of the dangerous Australian batsman Aaron Finch. However, Dhoni missed a stumping but his overall performances were pretty well in the match.

Suresh Raina- He didn’t get a chance to bat much in the match. Though he came to bat at the very last moment of the Indian innings, he didn’t face a single ball.

Yuvraj Singh- Once again Yuvraj Singh didn’t get batting in the Indian innings. However, he came to bowl at 12th over of Australian innings. He got the wicket of dangerous batsman Glenn Maxwell in his first over of the match. He finished his figure as 2-0-7-1.

Hardik Pandya- The new Baroda all-rounder too did not get many chances in the match. He only bowled 2 overs where he picked up a wicket. Also, he took a very important catch of opener Shaun Marsh.

Ravindra Jadeja- He bowled very well at the crucial time and picked up 2 wickets at the end. He sent Shane Watson and James Faulkner back to the pavilion. He could have got another wicket of Shaun Marsh in his first over if Dhoni didn’t miss a stumping.

Ravichandran Ashwin- Off-spinner Ashwin gave a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Shaun Marsh to bring the match back to India’s favour. He could have got another wicket earlier in that over if Dhawan held on to the catch of Aaron Finch. Ashwin finished with the figure of 4-0-27-1.

Jasprit Bumrah- This young bowler gave an impressive performance on the Australian tour. He picked up another 2 wickets at the last over in the match.

Ashish Nehra- Ashish Nehra ended the match wicket-less. He bowled 4 overs where he gave away 34 runs. He needs to be more careful about his line and length.
