On Saturday ( 25th January), former South African cricketer AB de Villiers impressed one and all with his knock for Brisbane Heat in the ongoing Big Bash League 2019-20(BBL 2020). He thrashed the Melbourne Stars’ bowlers with his power-packed performance. The highlight of the match was his highest maximum of the match at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Earlier, Heat opted to bat first and set the target of 186 runs at the loss of five wickets.
In the match, de Villiers was the star performer for his team. He gave stability to the team when the top-order struggled in between.
AB de Villiers hits monstrous six at the MCG:
Sam Heazlett, Ben Cutting, Chris Lynn, and Marns Labuschagne had a small contribution to the game. But the highlight of De Villiers’ knock of 71 off 37 balls had grabbed the headlines in the cricketing world.
The right-handed batsman de Villiers struck six sixes and two fours in his incredible innings. While in the 18th over of the match, his huge six came on the full-length delivery off Dilbar Hussain. He had already placed himself deep in the crease to dispatch the ball into stands.

However, on the last delivery of the match, Hussain dismissed de Villiers. But he had done his work to set the match-winning target against Stars. Thus, he was fruitful signing for Brisbane Heat as he has given the middle-order a much-needed boost.
Also, with his consistent outstanding performance in the franchise league, there are talks he might make a comeback in his national team for the T20 World Cup 2020.
Meanwhile, Melbourne could not reach the target. Mitchell Swepson picked three crucial wickets while Mujeeb Ur Rahman and James Pattinson snared two wickets each. Thus, Heat won the match by 69 runs.
