Of late, Conflict Of Interest has been a regular mention in the cricketing world, especially, in India. The latest one to get the hurt with the notice is the former Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid, who is currently coaching the junior teams of the Indian Cricket. It was registered after the complaint by MCA’s Sanjeev Gupta.
BCCI’s Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer Justice (Retd) DK Jain sent a notification to Rahul Dravid. It was done after taking an objection from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta.

Rahul Dravid was given two weeks of time –
As per Sanjeev Gupta’s complaint, Dravid is allegedly conflicted. He is the NCA Director and also employed as vice-president of India Cements group, which owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.
“Yes, I have sent a notice to Mr Rahul Dravid. It was in last week after receiving a complaint. He has been given two weeks to reply to the allegations of Conflict of Interest. Based on his reply, I will decide whether to proceed further or not,” Justice Jain confirmed the development to PTI.
It is foreseen that Rahul Dravid will have to register his response on-or-before August 16 and then might have to appear for an in-person hearing if Justice Jain deems it important.
Ahead of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman had received Conflict of Interest complaints. It was for their dual roles in IPL. They both are Cricket Advisory Committee members as well as mentor/icon of their respective IPL franchise Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out. Meanwhile, there could be a danger if Rahul Dravid opts to pick the vice-president role of Indian Cements rather than opting for a coaching role.
