Ben Stokes Shares His Feeling After His Father’s Death

One of the greatest all-rounders in the present international cricket, English cricketer Ben Stokes recently lost his beloved father. After this heartbreaking incident, Stokes recently shared his feeling on his official social media accounts.

Gerard Stokes, the late father of Ben Stokes, was a rugby league footballer in New Zealand during the 1970s and 1980s. Later, he also involved in coaching as he trained the Serbia national rugby league team apart from the other clubs. During his playing days, when once Gerard Stokes dislocated his finger, he called for amputation that finger to return to the game quickly. Ben Stokes’ folded-finger celebration dedicates that incident.

While Gerard Stokes was hospitalised in December 2019 due to a brain bleed, it was later revealed as brain cancer. Since then, the senior was battling against it. Ben Stokes withdrew his name from the final two home Test matches against Pakistan in last August to give support to his ailing father. Later, the English cricketer also missed the initial stage of the IPL 2020 but joined the Rajasthan Royals camp in the middle of that tournament.

Ben was also absent during England’s recent South Africa tour, where the ODI series was recently postponed amid coronavirus outbreak in the bio-bubble.

Love you forever and always: Ben Stokes

On last Tuesday (8th December), Gerard Stokes died at the age of 65-year-old. On his Instagram account, Ben posted a picture of his father with Rajasthan Royals’ jersey and another picture of his folded-finger to tribute his father. He also added an emotional caption on that post.
