Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pace mainstay Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not played a competitive match since December last year. He is excited to play his first competitive match since the start of 2020 during the upcoming IPL edition in the UAE.
For Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 2019 was the injury-prone year. He was in and out of the team since the World Cup 2019 end. The speedster was again injured during the West Indies series after getting recovered. His injury had created a lot of controversies and had pointed out fingers on the National Cricket Academy(NCA).
The Uttar Pradesh-player was set to make the comeback in the ODI series against South Africa in march but the outbreak of the coronavirus postponed the series. It also delayed his comeback. However, finally, he will be making a comeback in the cricket field though not in Indian jersey but for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“It’s great to be back, personally I have been away from this game for a while, first I was injured and then this pandemic and lockdown. I am pretty excited about IPL. I cannot wait to get back in action.”
Bhuvneshwar Kumar believes IPL was the right tournament to bring back cricket in India. He said that the popular T20 league will surely bring joy among cricket lovers.
“I don’t think there could be a better tournament than IPL in India to start off with cricket and I am sure it will bring joy to the people of India,”Bhuvneshwar Kumar said.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is going to miss the crowd:
The fast bowler said that he would surely miss the crowd and the feel of playing in the home ground as first-time IPL would be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus
“Definitely, I am going to miss playing in India especially in front of our home crowd, they have been supporting us for many years, I feel they are one of the major motivating factors for us,” he said.
