As per Indian Express, it seems like the two star-cricketers Lockie Ferguson, Carlos Brathwaite is looking to part ways with Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The duo failed to make things fall in place for KKR in IPL 2019, which might be one of the reasons behind the latest reports.

In 2019, the Dinesh Karthik-led side has imported four overseas pacers to boost its campaign in IPL 12. Superfast Kiwi Lockie Ferguson, zippy South African Anrich Nortje, left-arm Englishman Harry Gurney, who has a lot of variety, and West Indian all-rounder of World T20 fame Carlos Brathwaite provide depth and experience to the pace department and choices for Karthik.

However, it didn’t work as per the plan, as the South African was injured while Carlos Brathwaite and Lockie Ferguson failed to deliver. Harry Gurney impressed with his slower bowls but failed to make an impact on the game.

Well, coming back to the topic, Lockie Ferguson could fetch a few deals in the upcoming auction. The likes of Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab or Royal Challengers Bangalore might put their interest on them, as they are facing a bowler short in their campaign.

KKR had a poor campaign in IPL 2019. However, Andre Russell relished being one of the senior players in the side and despite the team finishing fifth, his efforts are not going to be forgotten in a hurry. Left-hander Nitish Rana was once again consistent with the bat, picking it up from where he left last season.

Russell’s 510 runs came at an average of 56.66 and a colossal strike rate of 204.81. Russell battled through niggles: Whether it was after hitting a six, after a throw from the deep or finishing his run-up while bowling. None of that affected his performances.

Apart from Andre Russell, none of the players was consistent. Shubman Gill impressed with the bat at times alongside Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa and Kuldeep Yadav were complete disappointments. Well, it would be interesting to see how KKR comes up in IPL 2020.
