ToggleFormer Indian cricketer-turned-politician Chetan Chauhan tested positive of COVID-19 on Saturday evening. The news broke out after the former cricketers Aakash Chopra and RP Singh took to Twitter to wish the speedy recovery of Chauhan.
Chetan Chauhan is reportedly admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi PGI hospital in Lucknow after going for the test on Friday. His family members have been quarantined and they will also go under the COVID-19 test.

“Chetan Chauhan ji is also tested positive for #COVIDー19. Sending best wishes in his direction too…get well soon, sir. Tough night this one…Big B and Chetan Ji,” Akash Chopra wrote.

He is among the other big names of former cricketers list who have tested positive of the infectious virus. Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan allrounder, had also tested positive of coronavirus. Meanwhile, seven players Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz tested positive as they were set to tour for England.
Chetan represented India in 40 Tests:

Chetan Chauhan has represented India from 1969 to 1981. He has played in 40 Test matches and scored 2084 runs at an average of 31. 57. He has also featured in seven ODIs and amassed 153 runs. He is chiefly remembered for his opening partnerships with Sunil Gavaskar. Notably, they are among the top 10 opening pair in Tests, scoring 3010 runs in 59 innings.
He was also a heavy run-scorer in domestic cricket while playing for Maharashtra and Delhi. Former cricketer is also an Arjuna Awardee.
After retiring from the game, he became a politician and was also the Loksabha member. Currently, he is a cabinet minister of UP.
