In that rain-interrupted match, St Lucia Zouks claimed their first victory in this tournament after beating the defending champions by seven wickets (DLS method).
Barbados Tridents decided to bat first after winning the toss. Before the rain-interrupted that game, Tridents scored 131/7 in 18.1 overs. That match was restarted after two hours as St Lucia Zouks had to chase 47 runs in five overs. Zouks chased down that target in 4.1 overs after losing three wickets.

While the first ball of that innings was a dot ball, opener Rahkeem Cornwall smashed three successive fours to Jason Holder in the next three deliveries.
On the fifth ball of the next over, Cornwall was stumped out when he was facing Rashid Khan after scoring 14 off 8 balls (3 fours). In the next over, Raymon Reifer dismissed Najibullah Zadran (5).
In the fourth over of that innings, Mohammad Nabi smashed a sixer and a four to his national teammate Rashid Khan before the leg-spinner dismissed Nabi, who again went for a big shot but he was caught out at the deep square leg (caught by Jonathan Carter).

On the fifth ball of that over, opener Andre Fletcher brought Zouks very closure to the victory with a sixer. He successfully finished that game with a four on the first ball of the fifth over of that innings. Fletcher remained not out on 16 runs off 7 balls (2 fours and only six).

Opener Johnson Charles and Shai Hope set up the 35 runs partnership for the first wicket where Charles scored all 35 runs off 19 balls (3 fours and 2 sixes) before he was dismissed by Scott Kuggeleijn. Since then Barbados Tridents were losing their wickets at regular intervals.

After that partnership, only two more partnerships in that innings crossed the 20-run mark, while four more batsmen reached the double-digit scores. While Kyle Mayers and Jason Holder put the 34-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Ashley Nurse and Mitchell Santner put the crucial 22-run partnership for the unbroken eighth wicket before rain interrupted that game.
While skipper Holder scored 27 runs off just 12 balls (2 fours and 2 sixes), Hope scored 19 runs and Mayers scored 16 runs, and Nurse remained not out on 16 runs.
Roston Chase bagged back-to-back two wickets in his first over of this match (14th over of that innings) after dismissing Jonathan Carter (5) and Mayers. While Chase had the bowling figures of 2-0-8-2, Kuggeleijn also managed to claim two wickets in that innings (2/28).
