Carlos Brathwaite hits fifty on a rain-marred day 2

Day 2 of the third Test between Australia and West Indies at Sydney mostly washed out due to the rain. The play was possible for only 11.2 overs in the day.  

The match was scheduled to begin early on day 2 due to the rain interruption on day 1. But due to rain in the morning; the day 2 started with the delay. The rain interruption was continued further through the day. The day was called off after the tea.

Coming in with the overnight score of 207/6, the West Indies managed 41 runs with the loss of Carlos Brathwaite’s wicket.

On the rain-interrupted day, Carlos played a crucial knock and hit his second fifty of the series. Starting with the overnight score on 35 runs, he completed his half-century in 50 balls. Just before the rain washed out the day, Carlos was bowled by Pattinson for 69 runs. Carlos is only the third player to score a half-century in his first two Tests from 8 or lower in the batting order.  

Another overnight batsman, Dinesh Ramdin remained unbeaten on day 2 at 30 runs, starting from 23 runs. Ramdin and Carlos made a crucial 87 run partnership for the 7th wicket in this innings. Kemar Roach remained not out without getting off the mark after facing just 1 ball.
