Want to be a professional cricketer?
On Thursday (28th May), the Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the Test matches schedule against Afghanistan and much-awaited India series for the upcoming full-fledged home summer.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced to postpone many recent cricket events. Some of the upcoming cricket events can also face the same fate, including the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, which Australia will organise between 18th October and 15th November 2020.
However, the CA is very much confident to host Afghanistan and India in the upcoming 2020/21 summer. The Baggy Green team will start their new home summer with the only Test against Afghanistan at Perth Stadium (Perth) on 21st November 2020, which will be a day/night pink-ball Test match.
The Test series between Australia and India will run between 3rd December 2020 and 7th January 2021
The four-match Test series between the hosts Australia and the visitors India will be the part of the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship. Gabba (Brisbane) will host the opening Test of this much-awaited series, which will begin on 3rd December 2020. Then they will play the day/night Test at Adelaide Oval (Adelaide) from 11th December 2020, which will be their first day/night pink-ball Test meeting as well as India’s first away day/night Test match.
The last two Test matches between Australia and India will be played at MCG (Melbourne) from 26th December 2020 and SCG (Sydney) from 3rd January 2021.
According to the FTP schedule, India will also play the limited-overs matches in the forthcoming Australia tour. The full international schedule for the 2020/21 home summer, including the limited-overs series against India and New Zealand, is likely to be announced on Friday (29th May) by the CA. Moreover, the CA will announce the domestic schedule, including WBBL and BBL fixtures, very soon.
The fate of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 can also be decided on today during the ICC board meeting.
